Edgewater Towers
Other Telcos said it couldn't be done... but DGtek did it.
After being knocked back by all of the major telcos, the Owners Corporation contacted DGtek, who had their engineers promptly inspect the site. Whilst the project would be complex, it was feasible.
Edgewater Towers has been an icon of the St Kilda foreshore for decades. Championed as the oldest private high-rise development in Melbourne, the 13-storey, ‘60s-era apartment building now represents the industry-standard for fibre network installation.

The Owners Corporation had reached out to several large telecommunication companies to enquire about bringing their residents’ internet speed into the twenty first century but were routinely rejected, claiming the installation would be too challenging and expensive.

After being knocked back by all of the major telcos, the Owners Corporation contacted DGtek, who had their engineers promptly inspect the site. Whilst the project would be complex, it was feasible.

The DGtek team worked in close cooperation with the Owners Corporation in order to ensure that the installation process ran smoothly, quickly and with no disruption to residents. After only 2 weeks, the building was rewired with optical fibre and DGtek began connecting individual apartments. Today, the oldest private high-rise development in Melbourne boasts Australia’s fastest Internet speeds.

The installation was followed by a straightforward, yet efficient marketing campaign: try the service for free for two weeks, with no strings attached. Having experienced the superior speeds, not a single user went back to their old supplier after that. Amelia Larkin represents Pineapple Net, one of DGtek’s RSPs who commented at the time, “It just goes to show that Australians are eager for an accessible high-speed Internet service outside of the office.”
QV1
They needed CCTV... DGtek delivered so much more.
“The Owners Committee was impressed by DGtek from the beginning. They took the time to meet onsite, answer any questions and ensure they had peace of mind.”

DGtek were invited to submit a quote to upgrade the CCTV system of the QV1 Residential tower, a high-rise apartment complex with over 400 apartments. The Owners Committee were impressed by DGtek from the beginning. They took the time to meet onsite, answer any questions and ensure they had peace of mind. Richard played a vital role in overseeing the project through to fulfilment. He worked in close collaboration with myself, the Building Manager and Owners Corporation Committee.

The quote that DGtek provided the Committee was similarly priced to other quotes, however, exceeded all others in value. In addition to upgrading the CCTV infrastructure, DGtek also provided additional optical fibres to be used for building automation services, access control and of course High-Speed internet. A free internet connection was also supplied to the Building Manager. The Committee & QV1 Residents have been very pleased with the outcome.

After my recent interactions, I can safely say that DGtek really are a cut above the other telcos. They delivered what they promised and we were extremely impressed with not only the fast internet speeds but also their professional demeanour, friendly installation team and customer service. They've been efficient in navigating through issues that all high-rise buildings face, such as liaising with building management, working in common areas and tailoring solutions to meet the specific needs of our buildings.

NBNco were late, so DGtek delivered for this development.
NBN was very late in its delivery, causing some residents to move in – without internet access.
This Beachside luxury apartment complex was DGtek’s first project that began during construction stages. DGtek was brought in to help just as the building was nearing completion because NBN was very late in its delivery, causing some residents to move in – without internet access.

Within several weeks, DGtek delivered a solution that allowed each tenant to reach speeds of up to 1000/1000 Mbps at very affordable prices. They worked closely with the Owners Corporation Manager, the developer and each resident to ensure the installation went smoothly and responded to any issues on the same day. Tenants were very impressed with the professionalism of the installers and their customer service.
Array apartments
Residents were sick of average internet... till they found DGtek
Customers are now able to access speeds from as low as 50/50 Mbps up to 1000/1000 Mbps with even faster connections available upon request.

Built by Mirvac in 2015, the Array Tower is the jewel in the Crown of Yarra’s Edge. Showcasing unadulterated luxury, unbelievable space both inside and out, and marvellous riverside views. Array had everything going right; except for its internet service.

Residents at Array had been unimpressed with their internet speeds, however Melbourne’s recent COVID restrictions really brought some urgency to the matter. As families began to work and school from home, the limited capacity of upload speeds was being exposed. Video conferencing applications like Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet require more upload bandwidth than traditional web browsing and internet use. Residents at Array were struggling to reach even 5 Mbps upload, preventing more than one video conference to occur simultaneously in the same household.

One of Array’s residents began researching alternative Internet providers and deemed DGtek the best option for the building.

Array’s building manager was particularly proactive and showed DGtek staff around the building so that a suitable design could be submitted to the committee for approval. DGtek proposed to implement a Verticasa Backbone cable throughout the entire vertical length of the building, with optical splitters installed intermittently in the risers.

The solution allowed all residents to access symmetrical speeds meaning that each user would experience as much download bandwidth as upload bandwidth; a capability normally reserved for business-grade connections.

Customers are now able to access speeds from as low as 50/50 Mbps up to 1000/1000 Mbps with even faster connections available upon request.

In addition to the internet upgrade, the Verticasa solution sets aside excess fibres in the backbone cable that could potentially be used for other building services in the future, such as CCTV, Intercom, Access Control and HVAC monitoring.
